Frankenstein Banana Pops are cute, fun and easy-to-make. When you're looking for Halloween recipes for kids, you'll want make these with your kids! Pin it!
First, line a small baking pan with wax paper. Peel and cut two bananas in half. Then cut the tops to make a flat head like that of the one and only Frankenstein.
Second, melt the dark green candy melts according to package directions. I add a teaspoon of coconut oil to it to make it easier to stir. You'll only need about 6 oz for this recipe unless you double the batch.
Third, dip the bananas into the melted green candy melts, fully coating them. They'll look like pickles at this point. LOL!
Fourth, add the candy eyeballs about an inch below the top of the heads to leave room to dip the head to make the dark hair, so to speak.
Fifth, insert the 4" candy pop sticks at the bottom while the banana pops are still lying down. Put the tray in the freezer for 15 minutes so the coated bananas can harden.
Sixth, melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips in the microwave for about 30 seconds. Stir the chocolate chips until smooth. You may need another 10-15 seconds depending on the strength of your microwave.
Seven, dip the hardened green bananas heads into the melted chocolate as shown below. Be careful not to cover the eyes.
Eighth, dip a tooth pick or candy pop stick in the melted chocolate and draw a smiley mouth or horizontal line with some vertical lines to make it look like a patched mouth resembling that of Frankenstein. Return to the freezer for 10-15 more minutes until firm.
