Pancake batter
  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil
Pancake Decorating
  • 2 large strawberries, stems removed
  • Red gel icing
  • Whipped cream
  • 1 tsp pink and red sprinkles
  1. First, remove stems. Then, slice strawberries in half, lengthwise. Then cut a “v” at the top where the stem was removed as pictured.

  2. Next, in a medium mixing bowl, add flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, vanilla and oil. Stir until well combined.
  3. Then, spray oil a griddle or large frying pan and place on med heat. When it’s hot, add a spoonful of pancake batter in the shape of an oval facing from left to right as to make the left “hill” of the heart. Immediately add another spoonful of cake batter opposite to mirror it. Use the spoon to pull the cake batter down to make the point of the heart.
  4. Next, let the pancake cook for about a minute or until holes start to appear and then gently flip it over.

  5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 until all of the cake batter made into pancakes.

  6. Then, arrange 3 pancakes on a plate. Using red gel icing, write in capital letters Conversation Heart sayings i.e. “LUV”, “BE MINE”, “COOL”, “CUTE” etc. or write your own personal messages.

  7. Next, place the strawberries on the plate.

  8. Then, add whipped cream wherever you want.

  9. Last, add some pink and red sprinkles on top of the whipped cream.
Recipe Notes
