I just love how festive this dessert looks. It’s easy especially with my step-by-step instructions. I couldn’t wait to try it the first time I made it.
It’s great to take to work, Christmas parties, holiday brunch, or just because. You can just pull off a piece like finger-food.

- 1 tbsp powdered sugar
Instructions
- First, preheat the oven to 400F.
- Next, place the puff pastry sheets on top of each other.
- Then, cut them into the shape of a Christmas tree as shown.
- Next, remove the top puff pastry sheet and place it aside.
- Then, spread the seedless raspberry jam evenly over the first layer of puff pastry as shown.
- Next, place the second sheet of puff pastry on top of the raspberry jam.
- Then, using a star-shaped cookie cutter (affiliate link) cut out a star with the remaining puff pastry scraps. Attach it to the top of the tree.
- Next, cut even strips about one inch in height on each side of the tree as shown.
- Then, brush the egg yolk on top of the puff pastry.
- Then, twist the strips once or twice for the longer ones.
- Next, brush more of the egg yolk on the puff pastry pieces that were twisted.
- Next, bake at 400F for 25-30 minutes.
- Last, sprinkle with powdered sugar.
I took my tree carefully off of the cookie sheet with two large spatulas and placed it on a platter.
Doesn’t that look delicious? I love closeups!
I used a star-shaped cookie cutter (affiliate link) to make the star.
You can use seedless strawberry jam (affiliate link) instead of seedless raspberry jam (affiliate link) if you wish. You may use preserves instead but, I find jam is easier to spread.
This pull-apart puff pastry Christmas tree is a festive dessert your guests will love.
