Use your air fryer trays, to make air fryer bacon recipe in minutes. Cooking bacon in the air fryer is not only super easy, but also less messy than frying it on the stovetop and quicker than baking it in your conventional oven.

I make bacon in my air fryer with other recipes too like:

So, let’s get started on making those crispy bacon strips without the hassle!

This is my favorite, and in my opinion, the best way to cook bacon quickly. It’s the easiest method cooking process for bacon on demand. The cooking time is only 8-12 minutes. It’s a fraction of the time it takes in a conventional oven.

The cooking time depends upon the thickness of the bacon. Obviously, thick cut bacon will take longer to cook by about a couple of minutes.

Why Air Fryer Bacon?

Air frying bacon is a game-changer because it’s healthier than pan-frying. The excess fat drips down into the drip pan while the bacon gets nice and crispy. Plus, it’s way less messy – no grease splatters all over your stove and countertops.

Of course, you can use a different air fryer model to make this recipe but, the cooking time will likely vary a bit.

Instructions

  1. First, preheat your air fryer: Start by preheating your air fryer. This step helps the bacon cook evenly and become crispy but, you don’t have to preheat. You can put the bacon right in and set the timer two or so minutes longer.
  2. Then, while the air fryer preheats, take out your bacon strips. Use the center-cut bacon as it fits perfectly and has less fat on it.Vortex Air Fryer Bacon
  3. Next, place your bacon strips on the trays in a single layer. Make sure they’re not overlapping to ensure even cooking.
  4. Then, set your air fryer to the recommended temperature for bacon (usually around 375°F). Cook for about 8-10 minutes, depending on how crispy you like your bacon. Keep an eye on it so it doesn’t burn!
  5. Next, after a few minutes, peek into your air fryer to see how the bacon is doing. You may flip the bacon halfway through cooking to ensure both sides get crispy evenly.
  6. Then, once your bacon reaches your desired level of crispiness, carefully remove it from the air fryer. Place the bacon strips on a plate lined with paper towels to soak up any excess grease.

Plus, you can save the bacon grease that drips down to the drip pan to season vegetables, if you wish or you can wipe it up with paper towels for easy clean up.

Put the leftover bacon you don’t use in a plastic container in your refrigerator to reheat later or eat cold. It’s wonderful on a piece of bread with tomato and mayonnaise.

Enjoy your perfectly crispy air fryer bacon! Serve it up alongside your favorite breakfast foods or use it as a delicious topping for salads, sandwiches, or hamburgers. The possibilities are nearly endless!

Cooking bacon in the air fryer with trays is the easy way to cook bacon and it’s quicker than cooking it on the stovetop without a greasy mess.

It’s quick, easy, and produces perfectly crispy strips without all the mess. So, next time you’re craving bacon for breakfast or looking to add a savory touch to your meals, give the air fryer method a try.

  1. Yes it is the same but, the time should be shorter. Try 5 minutes shorter and check the doneness of the bacon to see if it is the way you like it. Crispy vs. chewy.

  2. Mrs. Moon Ichinaga says:

I have an Instant vortex plus 4 qt air fryer, and I want to use it for frying bacon, 4 slices at a time. What tray do you use in your bacon recipe? Obviously my air fryer is smaller than the 6qt or 8qt that you reference, but I think the basic recipe is the same?
