- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup oil
- 3 strawberries
- 1/2 cup blueberries

Next, add 1/2 teaspoon of blue food coloring to one bowl of the batter and mix well. If it’s not the color pictured in the red and blue batter picture below below, add a few more drops until it is.
Then, oil spray three, eight inch cake pans and fill each one with the batter.
Bake them for 20-25 minutes at 350F. Let them cool before cutting.
Next, using a long serrated bread knife, cut the top of the blue layer off to make it flat as pictured below. Lie it on the cake plate you’ll use to serve it.
Then, add about half of a container of the white icing and spread it out evenly.
Next, repeat cutting the top of the cake layer and icing with the white cake layer and icing followed by the red cake layer and icing.
Then, add the remaining icing to the cake to cover the top and sides.
Next, slice the strawberries about 1/8th of an inch thick and place them as shown on the cake to form flowers. Then, add the blueberries in the middle and on the border of the cake as pictured.
There you have it! A beautiful patriotic cake to celebrate the Fourth of July or Memorial Day. It will be a hit at parties. It’s a very attractive cake don’t you think?
