Limoncello Cocktails Vodka
Limoncello originated on the breathtaking Amalfi coast in southern Italy, which is near where my family is from. Their lemons are huge and can get up to six inches in length. When I went there, I saw how big they were and couldn’t believe my eyes. Apparently, the climate is perfect for growing lemon trees.

Ingredients
- 1 oz Limoncello lemon liqueur
- 1 oz vodka or citrus vodka
- 1 tsp fresh lemon juice
- 2 oz sour lemonade (such as Simply Lemonade)
- 1 tbsp simple syrup (optional)
- 1 cup of ice cubes
I like to use Simply Lemonade because other lemonades seem to be more sugary than lemony. Don’t you think? It’s a very good quality lemonade and I think it makes this drink perfect!
I make this recipe with equal parts Limoncello and vodka. I add fresh lemon juice to add a tad more sour lemon flavor. However, if you don’t like that, just omit it. I want this drink to be perfect in your eyes and mouth!
Bottle of Limoncello
Put your bottle of Limoncello in the freezer to get it as cold as possible. It won’t freeze. It tastes better when it’s very cold. If you have room in your freezer, add the vodka too.
Cocktail Shaker
Also, you’ll need a cocktail shaker to make this recipe. It’s good to use because it strains the ice. So, if you don’t yet have one, now is a good time to get one.
Simple Syrup
Add some simple syrup to this cocktail if you feel it needs more sweetness. How sweet you want it is a matter of personal preference. I don’t like mine too sweet.
You can buy simple syrup but, if you don’t have it on hand, you can make it with equal parts sugar and water. Add it to a small saucepan and heat it until the sugar dissolves.
Garnish
Garnish this Limoncello Vodka Martini with lemon zest, lemon twist or a lemon slice. Use a vegetable peeler to make the lemon peel or twist.
Sugar Rim
You can add a sugar rim to this drink. Put sugar on a salad plate and push it to near the edges. Then, cut a lemon wedge and moisten the rim of the cocktail glass with the lemon wedge. Then, immediately dip the glass into the sugar and fill it with the drink.
Look at this martini! Couldn’t you just take a sip right now?
Make this cocktail when you want a delicious, refreshing lemon drink. It’s a perfect summer cocktail. You’re going to love it! I know it.
