How to Make Turkey Gravy with Drippings
Should I save Turkey drippings?
YES! Save the pan drippings because they have great flavor in which to make a yummy turkey gravy. Pan drippings can also be used to flavor vegetables.
The best time to make a gravy is after you’ve taken your cooked turkey out of the oven and let it rest about 20 minutes (or longer.)
This gives it time to reabsorb the juices for tender results. Use a turkey baster or ladle to pull up two cups of the turkey drippings.
NOTE: If you don’t have two cups of turkey drippings from your roasted turkey or slow cooked turkey, add enough water to make it two cups.
Turkey Gravy Ingredients:
- 4 tbsp butter
- 4 tbsp four
- 2 cups of turkey drippings (add water if needed) See note above.
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder (optional)
