Making lunch every morning takes up so much time when you’re a busy mom. Sometimes, you just want to grab a lunch from the refrigerator and throw it in their backpacks and get them to the bus stop a.s.a.p. That’s where Armour LunchMakers® + Drink come in very handy.
I bought mine at Acme Supermarkets in the dairy section, but they can be purchased at many other retailers. Find more Armour LunchMakers® + Drink products here.

You can grab a whole boxed lunch that includes ham or turkey, (other options too) cheese, crackers, a bar with real fruit, PLUS a drink! That’s so convenient when you just don’t have time to make lunch.
But, they’re also great for on-the-go snacks too! Because Armour LunchMakers® + Drink includes a drink, moms have “better for you” options like Mott’s 100% juice fruit punch and fruit bars made with REAL FRUIT!
Additionally, the Ham and American Cheese variety has 9 grams of protein (while the Turkey and American Cheese has 8 grams) and they both have 15% of the daily value of calcium so, you can feel good giving your kids this lunch or snack. Both of these products are a good source of calcium and protein.
I have two little boys, ages 7 and 6, who play sports. My 7 yr old, David, is now playing basketball and he likes it a lot. He gets hungry after running around the basketball court and I like to have a snack handy for him.
He also likes eating Ham & American Cheese LunchMakers® + Drink so, I decided to make him a snack sack to take with him to his games. He’ll have a post game snack with him to munch on after running around the gymnasium. I’m going to show you how to make this cute “Basketball Snack Sack” in 6 EASY steps!
What’s more, this easy craft project does not require the use of a glue gun or sewing!
How to Make a Basketball Snack Sack
Supplies:
- Ham & American Cheese LunchMakers® + Drink
- basketball net
- 42″ (3.5 ft) basketball ribbon
- scissors
- lighter
Instructions:
- First, cut the ribbon in two pieces- one 6 inch piece and one 36 inch piece.
- Next, thread the 6 inch ribbon on one of the open sides of the net weaving it in and out of the loops. Tie the end closed.
- Then, thread the 36 inch ribbon on the other open end of the basketball net leaving it loose.
- Next, put the Ham & American Cheese LunchMakers® + Drink box into the middle of the net.
Then, pull and tie the ribbon to close it. Make a long loop for a shoulder strap or make a bow, if you prefer. - Last, using a lighter, quickly singe the ends of the ribbon to keep it from fraying. Do this quickly as you don’t want the ribbon to catch on fire. That would be bad.
That’s it! This basketball snack sack is very simple to make with only a few supplies. Now, you may be asking yourself, where do I find basketball netting? I took mine from our toddler basketball hoop as they don’t play with it anymore. I washed it with dish soap, dried it and used it for this craft project. You will find basketball netting on line for as little as $3 and you can use any size.
