This Homemade Tasty & Spicy Chili Seasoning is the seasoning recipe I use in my popular Loaded Slow Cooker Chili recipe. It has ground beef, rainbow bell peppers, black banes, kidney beans, corn, chiles, tomatoes and all the seasonings below along with a little honey to give it some natural sweetness.
This chili tastes great with Easy Corn Spoonbread using Jiffy Muffin Mix with the addition of creamed corn and whole kernel corn.
How to Make Homemade Spicy Chili Seasoning

Cinnamon is a great flavoring to ground beef. It is used often in Greek recipes and I can see why. You’re not going to use a lot though.
See the 3-batch (batch size: 3-3.5 lbs of ground beef) quantity in the recipe notes below.
Ingredients:
chili powder
ground cumin
onion powder
garlic powder
ground cinnamon
paprika
oregano
salt
black pepper
ground cayenne pepper
You can add more or less of the salt and cayenne pepper. If you like more garlic, add it! This is your rodeo!

Homemade Spicy Chili Seasoning
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp chili powder
- 2 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp oregano
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp salt or to taste
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp ground cayenne pepper or to taste
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, add all ingredients and stir until well combined. Store in an emptied seasoning bottle or a 16 oz. glass jar with metal lid.

Three Batch Quantity Ingredients:
This recipe makes three batches of chili using 3-3.5 lbs of ground beef for each batch. Add about 3.5 tbsp of chili seasoning to one batch of chili (3-3.5 lbs ground beef.) Yields 2/3 cup of chili seasoning. 6 tbsp chili powder2 tbsp ground cumin
