Easy Italian Pinwheels with Cream Cheese

These Italian Pinwheels with cream cheese are made with Italian cured meats, provolone cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and a tangy cream cheese mixture made with pepper relish (hoagie spread.)

Italian pinwheels with cream cheese

Italian pinwheels (rollup sandwiches) are a delicious, easy-to-make finger food perfect for parties, beach days or a day at the pool. It’s good when you’re hosting and can grab a pinwheel on the way to getting the rest of the food out.

What I love about this recipe is the tanginess that the hoagie spread gives to the cream cheese mixture. Hoagie spread is a peppper relish made with hot and sweet peppers that are finely chopped with onions and garlic that are pickled in vinegar and oil. It comes in hot or mild.

I mix the hoagie spread, which is popular on the East Coast, with cream cheese, sour cream, onion powder and oregano for a tangy, creamy mixture that enhances the flavors of the Italian cured meats and provolone cheese.

It’s like a leveled up Italian hoagie (or sub) pinwheel style! It’s great for a grab-and-go snack, party trays or anytime you want finger food.

Make them in the morning and take them along to the beach or pool. They’re a tasty, cold lunch or snack item on a hot day.

Where to find cured Italian meats

You can find Italian cured meats near the deli department in a grocery store. That’s where I’ve always found the prepackaged cured Italian meats. However, you can find them in the deli too.
