Air Fryer Cheesy Garlic Bread

Learn how to create irresistible air fryer garlic cheese bread using the simplicity and versatility of garlic powder. What’s great about this simple recipe is that you can adjust the butter to garlic ratio to your liking. If you like a lot of butter, slather some extra on.

The way I make this recipe is different than what you find online where they make a garlic butter and cheese mixture with seasonings and then spread it on the bread. I spread the butter on the bread first and then sprinkle the seasonings on top followed by the cheese.

When the cheese melts, it locks in the butter and seasonings and gives you one big layer of melted cheese! Why needlessly dirty an extra bowl?

As I’ve mentioned above, crispy, cheesy garlic bread is a delicious side dish that complements many dishes, from pasta dishes to soups and salads.

While traditional garlic bread recipes call for fresh garlic cloves, using garlic powder offers convenience without sacrificing flavor.

Plus, it coats the Italian bread (or a French loaf) more evenly without leaving you with horrible fresh garlic breath! That’s not good for anybody!

Furthermore, it’s a great way to use up stale bread or bread that’s on it’s way to getting stale.

You only need a few simple ingredients to make this perfect side dish  or great snack with a very short cooking time. You only need a loaf of bread, butter, garlic powder (or granulated garlic), salt and parsley flakes.

You can use chopped fresh parsley or dried parsley. Fresh parsley will become dried when it comes out of your air fryer anyway.

Easy air fryer garlic bread is a delicious, quick snack too.

What Kind of Bread to Use to Make Air Fryer Cheesy Garlic Bread

I use Italian bread (or French bread) that is in a long roll as if to make hoagies (subs,) meatballs subs or cheesesteaks. If you can’t find this type of bread at your bakery, you can buy Amoroso rolls on Amazon that’ll be good for this recipe.

What’s great about making garlic bread is that you can make it with fresh bread or stale bread because it’s going to get toasted anyway!

Of course you can make this recipe like Texas Toast Garlic Bread slices where the bread loaf is sliced in width rather than length.

What Kind of Cheese Should I use?

Use shredded mozzarella cheese or a blend of cheeses to make this tasty recipe. You can use part mozzarella cheese and part Parmesan cheese or an Italian blend cheese.

Then, arrange the prepared garlic bread slices in the air fryer basket or trays making sure they’re in a single layer. Depending on the size of your air fryer, you may need to work in batches.

Air fry garlic bread at 375°F (190°C) for-4-5 minutes, or until the edges become a golden brown crust and crispy texture on the outside.

Don’t use aluminum foil because then you won’t get the crispy edges and toasted brown top. However, if that’s your preference, then have at it.

Carefully remove the garlic bread from the air fryer using tongs or a spatula, and transfer them to a serving plate.

Alternatively, you can add shredded mozzarella cheese or shredded parmesan cheese after you make garlic bread. It only take 2-3 minutes at 375F to melt the mozzarella cheese and 1-2 minutes to melt the parmesan cheese. The cheese doesn’t have to be added before.
