This Chocolate Espresso Martini Recipe is super delicious with both coffee and chocolate flavors. It’s easy-to-make with simple ingredients and is a great after dinner cocktail.
What’s better than a classic espresso martini? One with chocolate liqueur added, that’s what! We all know chocolate and coffee go great together. My amazing Espresso Nutella brownies are proof of that!
Espresso martinis are delicious for coffee lovers but, adding some chocolate liqueur makes it even tastier! It’s the perfect drink for those who love both coffee and chocolate.
This tasty cocktail has vodka, coffee liqueur and Creme de Cocao, which I use in my Tiramisu Martini, cold espresso and simple syrup, which can be omitted or reduced if you don’t want it to be as sweet.

Cocktail Shaker
Use a cocktail shaker to make this because it’s the easiest way to strain the ice cubes after chilling the liquids. It comes in handy for other cocktails so it’s not a waste to have one.
Plus, it’ll help you make the frothy top which you must shake it to get.
Ice Cubes
You’ll need a cup or so of ice cubes to make this. They will go into the cocktail shaker.
Coffee Liqueur
I used Kahlua coffee liqueur in this recipe. It is good quality and adds the right amount of coffee flavor to this drink.
Creme de Cocoa
Creme de Cocoa is a chocolate type liqueur and is much cheaper than Godiva chocolate liqueur. It gives the chocolate flavor to this drink.
Chocolate Liqueur
You can use a chocolate liqueur, such as Godiva, to make this drink. It’ll be fabulous but, may put a hurting on your wallet.
If you want some extra chocolate flavor, add some chocolate sauce or chocolate syrup to the rim of the glass before add the mixed cocktail to the glass.
Also, you can give it a chocolate rim by putting the chocolate sauce on a flat plate and dip the martini glass rim in it, as you would with sugar.
Shot of Espresso
You’ll need two shots of espresso for this recipe. If you use only one shot, it’ll be very boozy and sweet.
Instant Espresso Powder
If you don’t have an espresso maker or espresso Moka machine, you can make espresso with instant espresso powder. use warm water so the granules dissolve well.
Coffee Beans
Use s a few whole coffee beans, if you’ve got them, for garnish. Otherwise, your drink will look a bit dark and naked. It’ll still taste great though.
Dark Chocolate Shavings
Top your frothy martini with dark chocolate shavings. That will look very attractive to chocolate lovers.
Frothy Top
As I’ve mentioned above, when you shake this drink in the cocktail shaker, it’ll get frothy. The froth makes it look even more appetizing so shake a little longer to get it nice and frothy!
If you have them, top it with espresso beans for some very applicable garnish.
Martini Glasses
Serve your martinis in cute martini glasses. You can use martini glasses with stems or martini glasses without stems.
Add this to your list of dinner drinks because it’s a wonderful after-dinner drink. Coffee lovers will appreciate this alcoholic drink. It’s tasty and your friends will love it!
