Make this DELICIOUS, Philly cheesesteak on garlic bread recipe and WOW your taste buds! It’s a great, family, weeknight dinner you can make in 30 min or for game day! It’s made with simple ingredients and will take your cheesesteak experience to the next level!

Beef Sandwiches
Philly cheesesteaks are in a sandwich class all of their own. Anyone living in the Philly area all of their life, like me, knows that. Deli subs are great but, cheesesteaks are a whole different experience because they’re hot, beefy and oozing with cheese!
Whenever anyone I’ve talked to who visits Philadelphia, I almost always ask them if they’ve had a cheesesteak yet. I feel that you haven’t had a proper visit unless you’ve had a GOOD cheesesteak worth writing home about. After all, I’m a professional foodie!
My mom used to make steak sandwiches for us when I was a teen. She served them on round Kaiser rolls and she at hers without cheese. Mine had American cheese on them.
It’s fond memory of the American influence I had on my Italian immigrant mother. She loved them too!

I’m not going to debate what kind of cheese you want to use. Some swear by Cheese Whiz, which I don’t consider good quality cheese because it’s very processed and tastes that way. But, it’s your cheesesteak so do with it what you feel is to your liking.
I use American cheese or provolone cheese to make this delicious sandwich. Being Italian-American, I enjoy either of those on a cheesesteak.

Ingredients
Feel free to use any toppings you like. The most popular toppings, besides cheese, are fried onions and peppers: sweet, hot or bell peppers. Use mushrooms or whatever else tickles your fancy.
Ketchup is the most common condiment. We (except for the Hunt’s lovers of course) love hour Heinz ketchup right from the other side of Pennsylvania in Pittsburg where Heinz was founded.
Garlic Bread
I usually make garlic bread in my air fryer but, of course you can make it in a toaster oven or conventional oven. You just want it to brown as shown below and the butter will melt at 375F.
I use garlic powder (or granulated garlic) because it coats evenly but, you can use minced garlic if you prefer but, your breath will reveal that… just sayin!
Also, you can use this>> garlic salt which already has dried parsley in it, if you prefer but, and are o.k. with the added sodium.
You can use any style long Italian bread roll you like. Typically, cheesesteaks are made with soft, long rolls rather than crusty rolls. They’re not served on Kaiser rolls but, it’s not a food crime if you do because it may be what you have on hand.
- Amoroso long bread rolls
- softened butter
- garlic powder
- dried or fresh parsley (optional)
Vegetables
- onion
- green bell peppers
- mushrooms
Beef

- Red Skin Dill Potato Salad

Cheesesteaks on garlic bread sandwiches are perfect for game day. If you want to make them ahead of time, just wrap them each in aluminum foil and keep them warm until ready to serve. Your guests will LOVE them!
These sandwiches are great for weeknight dinners too because they’re ready in 30 minutes! It’s a hearty sandwich and teenagers will eat them up so, make extra if you want any for yourself!
