DIY Dollar Store Easter Wreath

Dollar Store Easter Wreath

With all of the celebrated holidays during the year, you’ll spend a lot of money buying decorations for each of them. Plus, if you are only the tiniest bit crafty, you can make some decorations yourself and have fun doing it. The decorations for this cute Easter Wreath only cost me $8 and I re-purposed an old grape-vine wreath. Get your glue gun ready!

I’ve been saving this grapevine wreath for years thinking I would someday decorate it. I had torn off the previous outdated decorations and saved the wreath. Yesterday, I was getting greeting cards at the Dollar Store and saw these cute Easter decorations for, you guessed it, $1 each! For $8, I decorated my grapevine wreath and it only took me 30 minutes!

The steps are included in the captions of each picture but, here is a quick synopsis.

  1. Wrap the blue burlap ribbon around the wreath and glue the ends.
  2. Fasten the faux purple flowers to the side with pipe cleaners.
  3. Cut the egg loops and tie the foam eggs to the wreath.
  4. Fasten the Easter sign to the wreath at the top and bottom.
  5. Make the Easter bow or use a large pastel-colored gift bow. How to make a ribbon bow video
  6. Tie the Easter bow to the wreath with pipe cleaner to cover the flower stems.
  7. Add a pipe cleaner on the back, top of the wreath to hang on my front door.

This is a step-by-step tutorial plus You Tube video of how to make a ribbon bow that will aid you in making your own Easter Wreath for under $10! I realize that not all Dollar Stores have the same merchandise but, you can find similar supplies, excluding the grapevine wreath.  You may find a similar “Hippity Hoppity Easter’s on its way” sign at the Dollar Store or a cute bunny or chic.

    1. Thanks Abbey. This is one of those wreaths that you can’t really tell they are Dollar Store decorations unless you are up close and even then it is a little hard to tell.
