Cranberry Lemon Drop Martini

I’ve gone out recently and noticed how many people around me have Lemon Drop Martinis! It’s currently my favorite cocktail that’s not only great in the summer months but all year round.

Adding some cranberry juice makes it especially fitting for the holidays or post holiday parties.

Ingredients

  • vodka or citrus vodka
  • Cointreau orange liqueur
  • lemon
  • cranberry juice cocktail
  • simple syrup
  • ice cubes
  • sugar (optional for making a sugar rim)
  • fresh cranberries (optional for garnish)
  • fresh rosemary (optional for garnish)

Instructions Summary

  1. First, remove some of the lemon peel to make the twist for the garnish.
  2. Optional: Make a sugar rim: Cut a slice of lemon and use it to wet the rim of the glass. Dip the glass in sugar to make the rim.
  3. Then, squeeze the lemon to get 1 oz of lemon juice, without seeds.
  4. Next, add the ice to the shaker followed by the vodka, Cointreau, lemon juice, cranberry juice and simple syrup. Shake for about 30 seconds.
  5. Then, pour the drink into a martini glass and garnish with 3 fresh cranberries, lemon twist and a sprig of fresh rosemary for a festive touch.

  • 7 tsp simple syrup (1 oz plus 1 tsp or more to taste)
  • 3 cranberries (optional for garnish)
  • 1 sprig fresh rosemary (optional for garnish)

  • 6 oz cranberry juice cocktail
  • 5 oz simple syrup
  • 12 cranberries
  • 4 sprigs of fresh rosemary
