As much as couples like to make dinner reservations at fancy restaurants for Valentine’s Day, it’s not only very expensive but, there are often prefix menus and long wait lines and with post-covid short staffing, it can be a nightmare to eat out on Valentine’s Day!
Plus, the grocery stores have lots of great deals on juicy steak and seafood (think lobster tails) so you can make your own gourmet meal without much cooking skills at home without breaking your bank account!
As I’ve mentioned above, these pasta dishes can be a romantic dinner for two or they can be used for special occasions or a quick weeknight dinner. I have creamy pasta recipes, a creamy gnocchi recipe with sun-dried tomatoes, cheesy pasta dishes, and other delicious pasta dinners for the perfect cozy night dinner date.
Wine Pairings for Pasta
Don’t forget to get a good bottle of wine or take a look at my cocktails for inspiration.
As for the wine pairing, red wine tends to go better with pasta dishes that have red tomato sauce while white wine tends to go better with pasta dishes that have white sauces, such as bachamel sauce, creamy alfredo sauce or seafood pasta dishes such as, linguine with clams.

I love topping my pasta dishes with freshly grated Parmesan cheese! Unlike Americans, Italians don’t put grated Parmesan cheese on their seafood pasta. That’s a no-no in Italy but, servers may ask you because they know you’re American.
Creamy Pasta (with meat)
If you’re looking for meat accompaniments, check out my popular and highly rated juicy meatballs in tomato sauce!
Seafood lovers will enjoy this!
Garlic Shrimp and Zucchini Pasta made with juicy shrimp!
Easy Shrimp Scampi Fettuccine is an elegant dish because it’s not dripping in sauce and quite easy to eat without looking messy like eating Buffalo wings.

Creamy Roasted Cherry Tomato Pasta Sauce Put this tasty, homemade sauce on any pasta you’d like!

Valentine’s Day Desserts
You can make a delicioius Valentine’s Day dinner without equally indulgent desserts. There’s no better dessert (in my opinion than cannoli or tiramisu (no alcohol recipe) but, that’s because I’m Italian!)
I’ve also never disliked a cookie to which I’ve made the acquaintance and a heart-shaped chocolate chip cookie is just perfect!
