First, prep the green beans. Rinse them and cut about 1/4 inch off the ends.
Next, coat them in extra virgin olive oil. This not only flavors them but, helps the grated parmesan cheese and seasonings stick to them.
The, add the grated parmesan cheese, garlic powder, salt and pepper and stir to coat the beans. If you like extra garlic flavor, add a little more garlic. The same goes with salt and pepper. You choose how much to use.
Then, add the coated green beans to your air fryer in a single layer. You may need to cook them in batches if you have a basket air fryer. I have a Power XL Oven Air Fryer which has five racks and I love it because I can fit way more in it than a basket air fryer. Read more about my air fryer.
Can you roast beans in an air fryer?
Yes. Put them in the air fryer raw. It’s best to coat them in some oil so they don’t wrinkle up and get dry.

Air Fryer Parmesan Green Beans
Equipment
- Air Fryer
Ingredients
- 16 oz fresh green beans
- 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
- salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- First, rinse and cut 1/4 inch from the ends of the green beans. Add them to a large mixing bowl.
- Next, add oil and stir them until they're covered with the oil. Adding the oil first allows for the cheese and seasonings to stick to the green beans. It also won't make the cheese clump with the oil.
- Then, add grated parmesan cheese, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Stir until the green beans are well coated.
- Last, add the green beans in a single layer to your air fryer. Cook at 370F for about 10-12 minutes. It may take a couple of minutes longer to cook larger or longer green beans. NOTE: You may need to cook them in batches if you don't have an air fryer with racks.
