Air Fryer Chicken
You may have never thought of making your own chicken nuggets, but when you see how easy this recipe is to make, you’ll want to try it. The chicken nuggets are deliciously flavored and come out of your air fryer with crispy edges.
My kids love them! They’re always excited to see them on their plate. But, you don’t have to be a kid to enjoy chicken nuggets that’s for sure. Who doesn’t love breaded chicken? This is one of my favorite air fryer recipes!
What’s also great about this recipe as compared to frozen chicken nuggets you buy at the store is that you control the ingredients. You can make them less salty, more or less garlic, oil or cheese. Don’t you love having control over your food? I surely do!

Air Fryer Garlic Parmesan Chicken Nuggets
If a 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder sounds like a lot to you, simply add less. Maybe a quarter teaspoon is enough garlic for you. I’m Italian, and I LOVE garlic! It is one of my most used seasonings and I start to panic if I’m running low which, rarely happens.
I’ve made this recipe many times without the cheese. So, if you don’t have it, make it anyway. It’s just as good!
As I mentioned, these air fryer chicken nuggets are super easy to make! I’ll show you how easy below.
First, cut the boneless, skinless chicken breasts into two inch long by one inch wide cubes and put them in a large mixing bowl. Don’t get out a ruler like I did but, you get the idea. The bigger the nuggets, the longer they’ll need to cook so try not to make them bigger than the size listed.
Then, add the extra virgin olive oil to the chicken and coat the chicken cubes with it. IMPORTANT: Make sure you add the oil first so the remaining ingredients stick to the chicken. If you throw all of the ingredients in together at first, the oil will get absorbed in the bread crumbs and not coat the chicken well or possibly at all.
Next, add the seasoned bread crumbs, grated parmesan cheese, garlic powder, salt and pepper to taste to the bowl and mix thoroughly to coat the chicken.
Next, add the coated chicken to your air fryer in a single layer. If you have a basket air fryer, likely you’ll need to cook the chicken in two batches.
Last, set the temperature to 380F and cook them for 20 minutes.
Serve them with your favorite dipping sauce, if you wish.
Your family is going to love these Garlic Parmesan Chicken Nuggets! They make a great snack, appetizer or main dish (double the batch for a family of four.)
Plus, you’re saving a lot of calories and fat by not frying them in oil in addition to a big mess to clean up.
