You’re just tired of clutter and toys all over the floor. You tell your kids to clean up 5 times and when they finally do, the toys are all over the house again! You just want some organization in your home. Is it too much to ask? Well, is it?
You can’t make French Toast on Saturday morning because you can’t find the cinnamon behind all of your 30 seasonings. You’d rather buy more than dig through your cluttered cabinet. You can’t find the cotton balls or that really nice lotion your sister-in-law bought for you a couple of months ago for your birthday?

Well, here’s a cheap solution to organizing your home!
An over-the-door shoe organizer with clear plastic pockets is a great way to store so many things. You can easily see and identify what’s inside each of the 24 pockets. I bought the one below on Amazon for only $14. It’s a great way to organize rooms in your home cheaply.
You’ll wonder why you didn’t use an over the door shoe organizer for more than just shoes sooner. How good do you feel after you’ve organized a closet, drawers or your pantry? Uh, pretty good don’t you?
7 Other Ways to Use a Shoe Organizer for Home Organization
Beauty Supplies
This is a great way to organize your beauty supplies. Hair supplies, nail care, foot care, facial care, lotions, and even vitamins can be easily stored on the inside of a bathroom closet door or hung on a wall. You’ll like having easier access to your daily regime.
Stuffed Animals
Putting smaller stuffed animals in an over the door shoe organizer is a great way to keep them off the floor and just throw in closets. Plus, if you need one, you won’t have to move a pile of other stuffed animals to get to the one your child wants like other organizers.
Smaller Toys
Small toys are my enemy. There always seems to be too many of them and my kids end up throwing them on shelves just to get them off the floor. This is a great way to organize toys. You may even be able to fill the whole thing with Match Box cars.
Seasonings
Just about anyone who cooks a lot has a bunch of seasonings. They get pushed to the back of the cabinet and forgotten. Then, you buy more. Putting you seasonings in a shoe organizer and hanging it in your pantry is a great way to organize seasonings and give you more room in your cabinets so you can make that Loaded Slow Cooker Santa Fe Chili you’ve been craving.
Mail/Bills
This is a great way to organize mail for each person in your household, or papers from your kids’ schools, bills, sales ads, coupons, etc. How can you possibly lose your bills now?
Cleaning Supplies
I’m lucky enough to have a closet in my laundry room where I keep most of my cleaning supplies in this shoe organizer! You can also put some laundry supplies in it too. It gives me so much more room on the shelves for bigger, bulkier cleaning supplies. I love this idea and found it somewhere on Pinterest.
Gardening Supplies
Hang this shoe organizer in your shed or garage and put your garden gloves, seeds, shovel, etc. in it. Gardeners will love this idea!
Some more ideas for a Shoe Organizer:
craft supplies
auto supplies (motor oil, nuts, bolts, pliers, car cleaning supplies, etc.)
baby supplies
markers, crayons, paints, etc.
school supplies
With so many things to organize using an over-the-door shoe organizer, you may have to buy a few of them! I’ve certainly found them to be very useful for organizing my home. Now, if I can just get the kids to put away their belongings!
