Isn’t it great to know what are the most popular recipes on any given food blog? If you’re reading this, I’d imagine you want to know exactly what are OUR most popular recipes. If the majority of people like it, that’s a good place to start your food search!
Surprisingly, some of the best recipes from 2020 didn’t make the top 10 list in 2021. but, that doesn’t mean my Luscious Lemon Cheesecake, Brown Sugar Sweet Potato Pie and Jambalaya Soup still aren’t amazing!
What recipe rose from NUMBER TEN in 2020 to NUMBER ONE in 2021?
Here’s the countdown starting with number ten and THE MOST POPULAR (No Plate Like Home) 2021 recipe is at the bottom.

Every year we take a one-week family vacation at the beach. I like to cook a few meals in the condo not only to save money or eating out but, also because I can control the sodium and quality of the food. But, these recipes are great for any time of year because they’re so easy. All of them have little prep are made with five ingredients and taste delicious! This five-recipe round-up was not included on last year’s top ten.
9. Authentic Homemade Italian Tomato Sauce
I’m thinking my homemade Italian tomato sauce (made with canned tomatoes, not fresh) is going to be on the top ten (or close to it) year-after-year. It gained popularity quickly and has been on the top fifteen from Pinterest since inception. I make this recipe religiously and freeze it in containers so that I always have a great-tasting sauce for my pasta dishes. It makes my popular, featured in a Philly radio show contest Baked Ziti with Ricotta Cheese extra special!
8. Slow Cooker Brown Sugar Balsamic Chicken + VIDEO
This Brown Sugar Balsamic Chicken is made in a slow cooker and is a great chicken main dish to serve with rice, potatoes and nearly any green vegetable. It’s not too sweet but, you control the sugar. Add more or less brown sugar if desired. This recipe has been popular since inception.
7. Southern Italian Easter Pie
It’s not too early to start thinking about Easter. Like Christmas, it too takes months of planning. You need to have just the right ham, side dishes, desserts, and Italian Easter Bread which I suspect may make the top ten list in 2022. don’t miss my adorable Bunny Butt Cake that’s been featured in Country Living every year for 5 years!
6. Slow Cooker Chili Recipe with Corn + VIDEO
This slow cooker chili recipe is really, really good! It’s seasoned with my own measurements of chili seasoning and a bit of honey instead of refined sugar but, can be omitted if you prefer and it’s still a great batch of chili. It tastes better the second day and is perfect for game day. Also, I have a good moist cornbread with whole kernel corn that goes perfectly with it!
5. One Pot Thick New England Clam Chowder Recipe
It’s incredible how this yummy and THICK New England Clam Chowder has become so popular on this food blog. Since I posted it years ago, Google has ranked it and it’s also been popular on Pinterest. It’s a great recipe because you don’t have to go to New England to taste a great clam chowder. You may also like my One Pot Corn and Crab Chowder. Both are phenomenal chowders.
4. Parmesan Rosemary Air Fryer Roasted Potatoes + VIDEO
This delicious air fryer roasted potatoes recipe has been shared 47K times on social media!! That’s the most of any other recipe on this food blog ever!! They’re quite amazing. You can make these delicious potatoes in a conventional oven too. If you’re looking to buy an air fryer, read this review of mine first.
Based on my current Pinterest numbers, I predict my Air Fryer Crispy Garlic Parmesan Potatoes + VIDEO will be on the list in 2022.
3. Authentic Italian Meatballs and Tomato Sauce + VIDEO
My meatballs slipped from the 2020 number 1 spot to number THREE this year! But, that doesn’t mean they aren’t as good as always! They get great reviews on Pinterest. Plus, I’ve been asked for this recipe A LOT for the last twenty years which is long before I started this blog.
So what are the two recipes that were even more popular? Well, the number two recipe last year remained number two in 2021. I’m a little shocked that this meatball recipe has been pushed aside for the sauce only recipe below. But then again, it is a delicious tomato sauce recipe made with FRESH tomatoes.
2. Italian Tomato Sauce with Fresh Tomatoes
I really can’t believe how popular this recipe has become because I put it on the blog on a whim one summer day in 2019. I thought to myself “I’m already doing the work so, I may as well put it on the blog!” My brother-in-law gave me bags of fresh plum tomatoes so I made a nice summer sauce with them and now so are a lot of people.
So what’s the recipe that pushed through all of my Italian sauces, authentic Italian meatballs, yummy chili and superb New England Clam Chowder? What recipe rose from NUMBER TEN last year to NUMBER ONE THIS YEAR?

This Bonefish Grill Winter White Cosmo copycat recipe is all that and more!! I tested this recipe over and over to get it as perfect, if not better, than the ones I’ve had at Bonefish Grill in King of Prussia in December 2019. It’s perfection and I have the stats to prove it!
Get your Elderflower Syrup (affiliate link) on Amazon. Some readers have told me it’s been difficult to find in some areas. The one I originally used in this recipe (Norm’s) isn’t available right now on Amazon but, there are other elderflower syrup options.
I discovered Elderflower liqueur and it’s wonderfully fragrant but, it costs $30+ per bottle. It’s called St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur.
